Recommendations for Breast Surgery (Lift and/or Reduction)

  • For the first two nights, sleep in a semi-seated position with two pillows behind your back. After the second day, you can sleep on your side with a pillow between your knees.
  • Do not sleep on your stomach until one month after the surgery.
  • Avoid lifting your arms completely upward for one month. You can raise your arms to nipple level to eat, brush your teeth, and comb your hair.
  • Keep your bra fully fastened and wear it day and night.
  • If Dr. Alvarado prescribes a support bra, wear it during the day and switch to a soft bra at night.
  • Apply the scar cream prescribed by Dr. Alvarado to the wounds twice a day.
  • Do not cover the wounds with Micropore or any other material.
  • It is important to start walking the day after surgery, avoiding prolonged bed rest. However, do not exercise for two months after the surgery.
  • Avoid lifting heavy objects and making abrupt movements during the first 15 days after the surgery.
  • After the stitches are removed, it is necessary to use a silicone tape over the scars to improve the healing process.
  • We recommend undergoing a minimum of five hyperbaric chamber sessions to reduce swelling, improve tissue oxygenation, and accelerate healing.
