- It is normal for light red fluid to drain from the liposculpture incisions.
- Keep the compression garment on after surgery until the next day. It is necessary to place maternity sanitary pads over the liposculpture incisions to collect the draining fluid.
- Do not remove the compression garment the next day while standing. Remove the garment while lying down and remain in this position for at least 10 minutes. Then, sit on the edge of the bed for another 5 minutes before standing up. This will help prevent dizziness and the risk of falling when removing the garment.
- It is important to begin massages the day after surgery. You can schedule an appointment by contacting our Estheticians or Dr. Alvarado’s Assistant directly.
- If you decide to have massages with someone else, it is important that the hired professional does not reopen the liposculpture incisions. They should also avoid performing injections, applying carboxytherapy, using cavitation devices, applying “fat burners” or any other substances, or using compresses or devices that generate heat or cold. Only low-power ultrasound may be used.
- If carboxytherapy is required, this procedure will be performed by Dr. Giovanny Alvarado at no additional cost.
- Perform the stretching exercises explained by the Esthetician or Dr. Alvarado for a minimum of 10 minutes twice a day.
- The compression garment must be worn day and night for two months, and then for 12 hours during the day or night for one more month.
- Swelling in the treated areas is normal during the first month. Tissue deflation is a slow process that takes at least three months, at which point you will be able to see the results of your surgery.
- The amount of fat retained in the buttocks long-term varies from patient to patient. It is normal to notice a decrease in volume during the first two months and a subsequent increase after the third month, as the surgery naturally causes weight loss in the patient.
WARNING SIGNS:
